At the Human Excellence Project, our Light Rebels department shines as a beacon of creativity and connection, bringing light to dark places—both literally and metaphorically. Just as we empower individuals to unlock their potential, Light Rebels transforms spaces and communities through breathtaking, large-scale light art installations. Recognised as leaders in Western Australia’s light art scene, we’re redefining how art inspires and unites all ages.
Our mission is simple yet profound: to create immersive, awe-inspiring experiences that spark joy, reflection, and togetherness. By harnessing the power of light, we illuminate not just physical spaces but also the human spirit. Light Rebels projects are more than art—they’re a celebration of collaboration, driven by our vibrant community of artists, volunteers, and supporters. Together, we design and build these radiant installations, which serve as the heartbeat of our fundraising efforts. The proceeds from these projects fuel our free community events throughout the year, ensuring everyone can access the transformative power of The Human Excellence Project.

Our Creations
Lumosphere
Step into the Lumosphere—a 80-metre illuminated tunnel designed to inspire exploration, connection and wonder through shifting light and colour.
Created by Perth-based mental health charity The Human Excellence Project – The Light Rebels, this Australian-first installation takes inspiration from the world-renowned Sonic Runway, a standout feature at Burning Man in the USA. The big thing we managed to do is add LED’s to the outside as well as the inside of the tunnel.
A celebration of human connection and community, the Lumosphere immerses visitors in a dynamic sensory experience. As you wander through its towering three-metre arches, the ever-changing display transforms the space around you, creating a mesmerising shared moment. Whether with friends, family, or strangers, the Lumosphere is best experienced together.
Lumosphere will be on display at this year Linga Longa Lights in Balingup July school holidays.
Aether 1.618
Aether 1.618 is a mesmerising installation featuring three intertwined sacred shapes, 2 x Dodecahedrons and an infinity Cuboctohedron each a sacred geometrical marvel. With 12 pentagons embodying the golden ratio on each dodecahedron, this piece radiates cosmic harmony and interconnectedness. Aether 1.618 invites you to explore the layers of existence, celebrating both the mystical and mathematical in a transformative dance of light and shadow.
HEP-TA-DOME
The HEPTADOME is an art installation featuring two interconnected LED domes, forming a single, mesmerizing artwork. With 14,000 LED pixels, it creates a visual spectacle that captivates and invites visitors to relax and enjoy the immersive experience. The real challenge? Trying to pull yourself away from its enchanting allure.
We designing and laser cut the roof structure to incorporate the Blazing Swan Principles. This also gives welcome shade for the art piece during the day.
